Description
A few months after Papa is captured by the British during the War of 1812, Caroline and Mama take in boarders--the wife and daughters of an army officer. Twelve-year-old Rhonda is a sylish city girl who seems to look down on tiny Sackets Harbor--and on Caroline. For her part, Caroline envies Rhonda, whose father is stationed nearby. As Mama and Caroline leave for Upper Canada in hopes of freeing Papa, the girls part with angry words.
